X-traction Flamethrower Chassis
Since we have not covered any of the details about the X-traction Flamethrower chassis in past articles we will take the time here to show some of the differences in this chassis configuration as compared to the standard X-traction chassis. Other than the components shown for the lighting system, the chassis are the same.
From the top, the obvious addition is the light bulb wires that create the lighting feature. There are no other changes to the chassis from the top view.
From the side view, you can see the additional electrical tab that connects the bulb wires to the electrical components at the bottom of the chassis. These are long metal tabs that run under the pick up shoes. We’ll take a close look at those with a bottom view.
From the bottom view you can see the long metal tab that connects the bulb lights to the chassis electrical connections. These are pressed flat and run under the pick up shoe spring. If your pick up shoes have too much tension you can press these tabs flatter to ease the pressure on the shoe. If you want to experiment a bit, you can remove the pick up spring and adjust the tab to act as the pick up spring, similar to the pick up spring system that was on the old Tyco HP-7 chassis.
