Back in the day, drag racers were lucky to have an open trailer and maybe a station wagon or pick up truck to haul their quarter mile monster around from drag strip to drag strip. If they were well sponsored, they may have had a flashy covered trailer to protect their rides from weather and road debris as they traveled or maybe a new-fangled ramp-back truck that was all the rage back in the day. Today of course, the multi-million dollar costs of drag racing comes with some extras including semi trucks hauling trailers emblazoned with the cars, drivers and of course the all important sponsors. Prudhomme and McEwen could have only dreamt of such amenities in their day, but Auto World has imagined a hauler worthy of transporting the Wildlife Racing roadshow. The Racing Rigs Release #12 (SC371) has haulers for the 1971 and 1972 Snake vs Mongoose Funny Cars. Taking a modern spin, these have full graphics on the trailers, displaying the cars of each driver, along with the years they represent. Each semi-truck, a Peterbilt 359, has matching graphics for their respective trailer. These will make a great addition for any HO dragstrip or if you just like the big rigs. Let’s take a close look at these heavy haulers.
