I always get into the Auto World themes they set up for their car releases, especially the themes that are attached to automotive history. The latest Thunderjet series (R1 SC390) OK Used Cars covers a concept that dates back to the 1920’s. General Motors, always looking ahead, came up with the OK concept as a way of letting used car customers know the dealership was inspecting the used stock and trade-ins to give the buyer the best quality. As the years passed, this OK Used Cars program grew into a trusted tie-in to General Motors and particularly Chevrolet used car customers. The “OK Used Cars” logo we are most familiar with from the 50’s and 60’s is used here in the Auto World packaging and maybe brings back a few memories with us older hobbyist when our parents were out car shopping. This OK Used Car program covered all makes and models, as the inventory at the dealer’s lots were mostly from trade-ins for the latest new car lines. So let’s take a stroll across the lot and see what OK Used Cars we can find. (Disclaimer: All of the cars sold in this series are new products, not previously used).

I remember when I was a kid, following my parents around on the car lot, checking out all the cool muscle cars and just hoping that mom was going to pick out that Limelight Barracuda But she selected a 1967 Plymouth Valiant in that olive green metallic that was so popular back then. But no fear, even though it only had a 318, it wasn’t long before she added duals and glass packs. Mom was always a hot rodder at heart. And now with this selection of OK Used Cars, I can pick out a Limelight Barracuda for myself!
