Ed Roth was one of the original creators of the “Kustom Kulture” in the late 1950’s and brought to us a most unique mascot for the hot-rodder community. In 1963 we were introduced to Rat Fink in Car Craft magazine! Bulging bloodshot eyes, dripping sweat and grinning with sharp pointed teeth, this rude, crude, socially unacceptable character opened a brand new genre. With Mr. Gasser and Weirdos (yes they were a band too with wild surf rock), Rat Fink and this cast of characters carved out a unique niche in American car culture (ahem! Kustom Kulture!). Auto World has given us a chance to drop in on the world of the Fink and Mr. Gasser. Racing on bright lime-green track, we get the chance to race through the sewers and tunnels in Rat Fink’s hood. It’s time to bring out the ten second cars and lay it down with the Fink and Furry-ous!
Here are all the goodies in the set. Everything is nicely packaged and ready for you to set up.
Here’s the parts list.
And here’s the track layout, on paper and on the table. That lime-green track will be one of those sought after collector items in the future. And it’s easy to see the cars!
The set comes with two color-coded controllers and the adjustable power supply.
Let’s check out Rat Fink’s and Mr. Gasser’s rides.
1970 Dodge Charger R/T – Black-Yellow-Orange – Rat Fink
1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible – Lime-Black – Mr. Gasser
To add to the “Fink feel”, there are tunnels covered in Fink graffiti and some cool cut-outs of Rat Fink and Mr. Gasser.
Let’s check out some Fink and Furry-ous racing action.
Man! These Finks and Weirdos look good side by side.
If you are a fan of Ed Roth’s Rat Fink characters, or like unique slot car sets, Auto World’s newest race set, the Fink & the Furry-ous (SRS347) will be your thing.
