2020 Auto World ThunderJet Release 30 SC359

It’s the last round of the summer season and we’re going cruising with some classic rides in the latest Auto World ThunderJet release. We get a great mix in this release with some excellent street cruisers, some historic drag livery and serious muscle car offerings. Let’s get right into it and check out the latest Auto World ThunderJet release 30 #SC359.

#1 1962 Chevy Bel Air – Surf Green and Satin Silver

The 1962 Bel Air had all new sheet metal and was a bit larger than the 1961 version. The 327 cubic inch V8 engine was added to the option list, but the 409 was still the monster power performance choice. This was the last year for the Sport Roof model of the Bel Air line.*

#2 1964 Dodge 330 – Light Blue and Dick Landy Dodge

The 1964 Dodge 330 was the second year evolution of the 330 model started in 1963. the street version came with everything under the hood from a 225 slant 6, to the 426 Wedge. The factory backed Dodges were drag strip terrors, captured here with the historic Dandy Dick Landy A/FX class drag car.*

#3 1968 Chevy Camaro – Nickey Chicago- Cordovan Maroon/White and Butternut Yellow/Black

Chevrolet gave Ford a three year head start in the pony car wars, but Chevy caught up fast with the Camaro and the dealerships like Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago took it a step further, swapping in big blocks and bolting on additional performance parts to create some of the most potent muscle cars you could buy. Just imagine it’s 1968 and you walk into the Nickey dealership and ask for the latest Camaro model and , oh yeah, let me have that Bill Thomas Stage III package!

#4 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS – Green Mist/Black and Daytona Yellow/White

1970 saw the Chevelle bodywork get squared up stance and “coke-bottle styling” following the trend in other General Motors models. The SS models came in two options, the Z25 with the 396 or the Z15 with the 454 V8. Chevy brochures offered the buyer to make the tough one even tougher by adding Cowl Induction to the 396 or 454. The Cowl Induction was “to shoot an extra breath of cool air into the engine air intake….like second wind to a distance runner.” ***
