The second in the Greatest Hits series from Auto World brings us Xtraction release number three (SC412) and has a collection of some of their best bodies from the past. This release includes some of the old and new classics, some in new colors and we have a chance to add these to our collections if we missed them the first time around. Let’s take a look at what’s in this new release.
#1A 1955 Chevy Bel Air – Pearl Silver with Blue Flames
Auto World released their version of the ‘55 Chevy Bel Air back in 2005 with their first branded Xtraction series. The original releases came in blue and chrome red. The iconic ‘55 Chevy has been a favorite and regular item in the Auto World line up.
#1B 1955 Chevy Bel Air – Chrome Red/White Stripes
#2A 1965 Volkswagen Samba Bus – Purple/Black
The 1965 Volkswagen Samba Bus first appeared in Auto World’s Xtraction release #7 back in 2009. The first colors were two-tone cream/yellow and dark metallic green/white. The Samba bus even turned up as a Penguin-mobile in one of the Batman race sets in 2012.
#2B 1965 Volkswagen Samba Bus – Chrome Silver/Silver
#3A 1973 Datsun 240Z – Sahara Gold/White
The 1973 Datsun 240Z is a recent addition to the Auto World Xtraction line up and due to it’s popularity, earned a spot in this release. The first appearance of the Datsun 240Z came out in 2022 with two versions, a factory/street version and a racing version with covered headlights and spoilers. The first versions were red/yellow and silver/red/black.
#3B 1973 Datsun 240Z – Orange
#4A 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona – Light Blue/Blue/Black/Yellow #80
The first appearance of the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona was back in Playing Mantis releases under Mopar Madness. The first releases were red/white and black/red. The winged warrior has been a favorite and has been released as a street, drag and stock-car version over the years.
