2025 Auto World AMP-XT/AMP-4Gear – Storm Racers (SRS362)

The Doppler Radar lights up like a Christmas tree with all the colors you don’t want to see. The winds start to rise and the weather sirens begin to wail. The rains come down in sheets and shortly after, the hails starts in like peas then grow to the size of quarters and the winds keep rising. And the Storm Racers are out chasing down the wind and watching for the twisters and helping warn the towns. And that’s the very original concept captured by the Auto World team when creating the Storm Racers Race Set (SRS362). The set has two wind chasing vehicles, one from the local weather station and another from a storm chasing group. Let’s brave the storm and see what’s in this race set.

All the parts are packed in tight. The track is now shrink wrapped and keeps it all secured and in place. And there’s more underneath the first layer of goodies. The additional bridge supports and the “tornado” cutout are tucked away below.

Here is the parts list. This set includes a wide variety of turns in 6, 9, 12 and 15 inch radii. This set would be a good choice if you are looking to build a multi-lane track in the future.

Here is the layout diagram, along with the alternate layout on the back of the box. In the last picture we can see the primary layout assembled and ready to race and chase the storms.

The set comes with everything you need to get going. Controllers, power pack, guard rails and track supports are included.

The set comes with two versions of the new Auto World AMP Chassis, the Xtraction version and the 4Gear version. Each use the same motors, gears and parts, but the chassis are formatted to fit the bodies of the older chassis. Let’s see what the set cars look like.

1977 Chevy Blazer – Purple/White – Channel 8 News – AMP-XT Chassis

1973 Dodge Van – White/Lime/Red/Blue/Yellow – Weather Wagon – AMP-4G Chassis

Here are few more photos of the set cars together.

And here are some action shots of the Storm Racers in action…

The race set has a lot of track in a small footprint. It winds around and twists back on itself, much like the storms the cars are chasing. Look for this race set at your local hobby shops or favorite web stores in late July/early August 2025.
