It’s tough enough being a semi-truck driver. You fight through traffic, long interstate hauls and turn around and do it all over again. If you drive way-up North, you get to add snow, ice, wind, cold and really long nights. The new Auto World Semi-Frozen Race Set (SRS33) brings some of that all night time winter driving to your living room floor. They even have lights for those long night drives. Let’s pop open the box and get a closer look at what all comes with this set.
The Semi-Frozen Race Set comes with everything you need to start racing those rigs. Track, controllers, power pack, 2 Lighted Flamethrower Xtraction Racing Rigs, guard rails, bridge piers and some scenic accessories. The track is molded in white and looks like a snowed-over road. The “wiggle” sections are stamped with ice blue graphics to simulate those extra slick spots on the road.
Here’s the check list of everything that comes in the box.
The set comes with enough track to build several different layouts to keep the racing interesting.
Of course the stars of the set are the lighted Flamethrower Xtraction Racing Rigs. This set comes with a GMC Astro 95 Cabover with a tanker trailer and the second semi is a Peterbilt 359 Conventional with a box trailer. They are both decked out in some “north of the border” graphics, complete with salt and cinders splashed all over, from the windshields to the mud flaps. Let’s take a close up look at these long haulers.

Now it’s time to see these trucks in action. The snow and ice track sections really bring the feel and look of driving through the open roads and across the frozen reaches of Alaska. The set comes with a few scenery cutouts that can add to the northern feel.
Here’s layout A and it fits nicely in a 3 foot by 6 foot area.
The icy sections make for some challenging driving. Only one of these big haulers are getting through at a time!
The bridges have plenty of clearance and adding the uphill-downhill driving can make the racing very exciting, trying to keep the trailers under control.
Auto World did a great job with the Semi-Frozen Race Set. It will become a collector’s item straight away with the unique truck and trailers and the “snow and ice colored” track sections. This set is due for release in October/November of 2021, just in time for that snow to start falling outside and some slip-sliding racing in the living room!
