Rallying started with amateur automobile enthusiasts taking their “everyday car” out racing. The adventurous driver taking the ultimate road test against the clock. With somewhat or down right illegal racing formats running on public roads across the country in the USA, or the official FIA programs criss-crossing the world, Rally racing was referred to as Grand Prix racing’s scruffy cousin. Auto World’s new race set Rallye 4+4 brings that cross country racing feel to t the HO racing world. With a rambling four lane layout that takes equal but different routes, you get the feel of a Gumball Rally or Cannonball Run. The set comes with four Auto World ThunderJet Ultra G cars, all highlighting the muscle car era of the late 60’s and early 70’s, bringing the power of the big blocks to the Rally. This is also the second set to feature the new wireless controllers and adjustable power supply that will make racing even more exciting. Let’s dive into the box and check out this race set.
As seen above, everything comes packed nicely and ready for you to start setting up your race set.
Here’s the list of all the goodies in the box. This set includes several of the new Auto World track sections that allow for the four lane layout designs. It also has the new five inch straight section. This set has the new wireless controllers and we will cover that in more detail, later in the article.
The track layout map has all the details on how to assemble the unique four lane race course.
Here’s a couple of views of the layout. The lanes go in different directions, just like some rally drivers do. The neat trick here is the lane distance is the same to keep the racing close.
As mentioned earlier, this set comes with the new wireless controllers and adjustable power supply. The controllers are Bluetooth units and are color coded; Red, White, Blue and Yellow for each of the four lanes. Below is a quick video on how these controllers are set up and paired to each of the lanes.
Let’s take a look at the cars that make up the Rallye 4+4 Race Set.
1968 Chevy Camaro – Black/Gold #13
1970 Ford Mustang – Green/Black #25
1968 Pontiac Firebird – Yellow/Black #77

Here are a few group shots of the cars in this race set.
And some racing action…
Auto World has really jumped all in for the Rally racing theme, Whether it’s in the venue of racing across the country on highways or public streets, to the raucous competition of races like the Monte Carlo or Pan-American Rally. And with this set, the excitement is quadrupled with the four lane racing action. Look for the Auto World Rallye 4+4 Race Set in your local hobby stores or favorite web store in August/September 2023.
